Service and Repair Rates
Service is the standard “tune-up” when the machine is cleaned internally and re-lubricated so it runs smoothly. Minor adjustments may also be necessary to achieve smooth operation. On older vintage machines, the motor will be inspected for any necessary servicing or repair such as sluggish performance or brittle wire insulation.
Domestic Mechanical Machines $95
Vintage and modern machines that do not use electronics to run.
Domestic Computerized Machines $110
Machines controlled by some sort of electronics, with a computer screen.
Note: There are some machines that can only be opened with proprietary tools available to dealer-specific technicians (modern Berninas) and software updates can only be installed by licensed dealers.
Industrial Machines $250
Commercial machines meant for production. Lockstitch, blindstitch, etc.
Motor Service & Repair $35
Vintage motors often have decades of carbon buildup, old grease, and dust that affect performance and brittle wires that are a safety issue. The foot pedal will also be inspected, cleaned and rewired if needed.
Repair Hourly Rate $40
If a machine requires repair for broken parts. This generally requires a cleaning and service prior to repair.
